Article Processing and Publication Charges

Diamond Open Access Model

The journal operates under the Diamond Open Access model, providing free and open access to all published materials for readers worldwide without any subscriptions or access fees.

At the same time, the journal does not charge any fees from authors at any stage of the editorial and publication process. In particular:

  • there is no manuscript submission fee
  • there are no article processing charges (APCs)
  • there is no publication fee

This policy reflects the journal's commitment to the free dissemination of scientific knowledge and ensuring equal opportunities for authors, regardless of their financial resources.

Sources of Funding

All expenses related to the editorial and publication process are fully covered by the founding institution.
Such funding ensures the sustainability of the journal's operations while maintaining complete editorial independence.

Editorial Independence

Funding sources have no influence whatsoever on:

  • editorial decisions
  • the peer review process
  • the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts

All submitted materials are evaluated solely based on the criteria of scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Transparency and Openness

The journal adheres to the principles of transparency in scholarly publishing and supports international open science initiatives.
The implementation of the Diamond Open Access model helps eliminate financial barriers for both authors and readers, and ensures a wider dissemination of scientific results.
The scientific collection "Proceedings of Odesa Polytechnic University" provides prompt and high-quality processing of manuscripts in compliance with international standards of academic integrity and publication ethics.
Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication, authors pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). The APC exclusively covers expenses related to the editorial and publication process.

What the APC Includes

checking the manuscript for plagiarism using the StrikePlagiarism software;

  • formatting the article in accordance with the layout and requirements of the journal;
  • preparation and verification of technical metadata (assigning DOIs, preparation for indexing, etc.);
  • basic publishing costs (DOI registration via Crossref, technical website support, hosting).

APC Amount

The minimum APC amount is 2.0 EUR per page (or the equivalent in UAH at the official exchange rate).
The APC amount may be periodically reviewed by the editorial board. Current payment information is always published on the official website of the journal.

APC Waiver Policy

The journal supports early-career researchers and ensures equal access to the publication of scientific results.
Authors who are third-level higher education applicants (Ph.D. students) studying funded by the state budget are fully exempt from any fees related to the processing, peer review, and publication of articles, provided that:

  • the article is prepared solely by the applicant;
  • the manuscript is submitted without co-authors;
  • the research has been conducted as part of the applicant's dissertation work.

The waiver applies to all stages of editorial processing, including manuscript review, peer review, and final publication.

 

Publication Fee Policy
No fees are charged for articles rejected during the peer review process.

  • No additional or hidden fees beyond the APC are required.
  • Printed copies of the journal can be ordered separately at the authors' request.
