Review procedure

Peer Review Process

The collection "Proceedings of Odesa Polytechnic University" utilizes double-blind peer review to guarantee objectivity, impartiality, and adherence to the highest academic standards. Under this model, authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the evaluation process.

1. Manuscript Submission
1.1. Authors submit their manuscripts.
1.2. To maintain anonymity, all identifying information (names, affiliation, acknowledgments, etc.) is removed from the file.

2. Initial Editorial Check
2.1. The Editor-in-Chief or their Deputy Editor checks the manuscript for:
- compliance with formatting requirements,
- thematic relevance to the journal,
- presence of plagiarism (using, in particular, StrikePlagiarism).
2.2. Manuscripts that do not meet basic quality and ethical criteria may be rejected without being sent for peer review.

3. Assignment of Reviewers
3.1. The Editor-in-Chief or their Deputy Editor selects at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
3.2. Reviewers receive an anonymized (de-identified) manuscript file.
3.3. Reviewers with a conflict of interest are excluded from the process.

4. Peer Review of the Manuscript
4.1. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
- scientific validity and methodology,
- originality and contribution to science,
- structure and clarity of presentation,
- accuracy and relevance of references.
4.2. They provide detailed comments and recommendations, classifying the article as:
Accept as is
Minor revisions required
Major revisions required
Reject

5. Author Revisions
5.1. If necessary, authors receive anonymous comments and deadlines for revision.
5.2. They must provide a point-by-point response.

6. Final Editorial Decision
6.1. The Editor-in-Chief or their Deputy Editor evaluates the revised manuscript and makes a decision:
- the article meets all requirements – accepted;
- additional changes are required – re-review;
- issues are not resolved – rejected.
6.2. The decision is communicated to the authors.

Double-blind peer review guarantees objectivity, minimizes bias, and increases trust in research findings. The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) in the field of peer review.
