International standards
Compliance with international standards and initiatives
The Editorial Board of the Proceedings of the Odessa Polytechnic University officially confirms its commitment to high standards of academic integrity and quality of scientific publications, guided by the guidelines of leading international organizations:
1. COPE Standards (Committee on Publication Ethics)
The publication operates in accordance with the COPE Core Practices. This means that we:
• Implement clear procedures for considering cases of ethical violations (plagiarism, data manipulation, conflict of interest) in accordance with COPE algorithms (flowcharts).
• Ensure transparency of funding and editorial management.
• Guarantee the right of authors to appeal editorial decisions.
2. WAME (World Association of Medical Editors) Recommendations
Although the publication has a technical profile, we adapt the WAME principles regarding:
• Editorial independence: Decisions on publication are made on the basis of scientific quality and do not depend on commercial interests, the influence of the university founders or political factors.
• High standards of peer review: Using peer review to ensure the reliability of engineering and scientific decisions.
3. DORA Declaration (San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment)
The collection supports the DORA principles for improving methods for evaluating the results of scientific research:
• We call for evaluating an article on its own scientific content, and not only on the basis of the metrics (impact factor) of the journal where it is published.
• We promote the use of various indicators (citations, downloads, altmetrics) to assess the impact of individual publications.
• The editorial board encourages authors to provide open access to the primary data and software code that underlie the research.
4. CSE (Council of Science Editors) Recommendations
The publication uses the CSE White Paper as a practical guide for:
• Clearly defining the roles of authors (Contribution statements).
• Defining the responsibilities of editors to maintain the integrity of the scientific record.
5. ORCID Integration Principles
In accordance with international requirements, the editorial office requires the mandatory availability of ORCID identifiers for all authors. This ensures the correct identification of scientists and linking of their publications in global scientometric databases (Scopus, Web of Science).
