Abstract

The forearm fractures constitute about 15% of all fractures of the limb segments. The most common they are among athletes and people involved in a traffic accidents or military actions. The relevance of design and numerical analysis of structures for fixing broken bones is determined with certain imperfections and insufficient research of orthopedic devices’ fixation rod. The study is devoted to important problems of modern traumatology: scientific substantiation and development of fixing holder design; development of methods to determine the forearm fractures locking structure strength and rigidity characteristics for the treatment success.

Oleksandr F. Daschenko, Odessа Polytechnic National University

Aleksander Fedorovich Dashchenko, D.Sc. (engineering), professor, Honoured Science and Engineering Worker of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and engineering, is Director of the Institute of Machine Building, as well as Head of the chair “Dynamics, durability of machines and strength of materials” at the Odessa National Polytechnic University. A.F. Dashchenko is a member of the National Committee of Ukraine on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.

His main research interests lie in the field of durability, reliability, longevity of machine elements and structural parts; mechanics of materials and certification test of materials and production.

A.F. Dashchenko has published above 200 research papers including 30 monographs, textbooks and manuals, as well as 34 author’s sertificates and patents.
